A Little About Mrs. Ruscitti
~ This is my thirteenth year teaching at MMS. I taught Spanish for the first six years and thoroughly enjoyed teaching language arts the past six years!
~ I have a bachelor's degree from Northern Illinois University and a master's degree from Concordia University.
~ I was born in Chicago and have lived in the suburbs most of my life.
~ My oldest, Tesa, was born November 2015. She is so full of energy and life and loves to explore everything. My second, Armond, was born December 2017. He always has a smile on his face. His laugh fills the room with happiness. My youngest, Enzo, was born August 2019. He is the happiest, most energetic little boy who can't wait to keep up with his older siblings.
~ I have one cat named Baci.
~ I have three younger brothers but only one of them lives in Illinois.
~ Currently, I live in Barrington.
~ In my free time I enjoy running, reading, cooking, crafting, and being outside.
~ Traveling is one of my biggest passions. I've been to Mexico, Canada, Argentina, Spain, Italy, England, France, Croatia, Montenegro, and to most of the states in the U.S.
~ In 2018, my family and I lived for two months in Europe. Most of the time was spent in Barcelona, Spain, my absolute favorite city in the world!
~ While in college, I studied abroad in Toledo, Spain.
~ I love food but if I had to pick a favorite, it would be pizza. Chocolate is a close second.
~ Teal, aqua, and pink are my favorite colors.
~ I'm bilingual. I speak Spanish and English.
~My favorite books are The Divergent series, The Language of Flowers, and The Book Thief.
~My favorite t.v. shows are Supernatural, Modern Family, and anything on HGTV and The Food Network.

My Teaching Philosophy
At my core, I am a teacher who believes all students have an infinite capacity for intelligence. Each student’s academic journey is unique, and it is my job as the teacher to observe my students and provide
a challenging curriculum that motivates students to continue on a lifelong path of learning.
I believe that failure is one of the best teachers. To become resilient, students must persevere through their missteps and find alternate paths to achieving success. This skill will help my students become problem solvers, looking for answers to questions that don’t yet have answers.
